Peter was born and grew up in rural Kenya. He comes from a large Catholic family of seven brothers and five sisters. He made a commitment to Christ, through his grandmother's influence, when he was 16 at a Christian Youth Camp and soon after had a strong sense that God was calling him to train for ordained ministry.

He studied at the East Africa School of Theology for a B.A. in Bible Theology, Nairobi International School of Theology for a Master of Divinity degree and then at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, for a Master of Theology degree in Old Testament Studies.

On coming to the UK in 1999, he lived in Reading and moved to Harlow in 2001, where he was a member at St Mary's, Old Harlow.

Peter also studied at Trinity Theological College in Bristol. He was ordained a deacon on 4th July 2010 at Chelmsford Cathedral and ordained a priest on 26th October 2011 in Kitui, Kenya by the Bishop of Chelmsford.
